Romantic Central Park Proposal
After finding me on Yelp!, Chris emailed me with his plan to propose to his girlfriend, Amanda, while they were visiting New York from Toronto. I couldn't be more excited to photograph this moment, and what more romantic place to do so than Central Park. We exchanged a few more emails, photos of the two so I'd know who to look for, and we devised a plan.
On the day of, Chris discreetly texted me descriptions of their outfits and their ETA. I waited at Bethesda Terrace until I saw them and followed behind as they walked hand-in-hand down the Literary Walk beneath the fall leaves of the American Elms. Chris occasionally spun Amanda around as if they were dancing as they walked towards William Shakespeare's statue, and about halfway there he pulled out a black, velvet lined box and got down on one knee. Amanda had no idea and was completely surprised. I've never heard anyone say "Oh My God" so many times. The two couldn't wipe the smiles from their faces, which you'll see for yourself.
It is such an honor to capture these beautiful, love-filled, happy moments that I know will be cherished and passed down to generations to come.
