Goodfellas Inspired Wedding Editorial at Nettie’s House of Spaghetti
This shoot is Published on Festival Brides
This editorial shoot was the brainchild of Bianca Bertoli, owner of Lock & Shade - my favorite salon in Asbury Park, and favorite hair/makeup team to work with. When Bianca told me the concept for this 60’s elopement wedding, inspired by one of her favorite films, Goodfellas, I was sold. I mean, a bride eating spaghetti in her dress, vintage cars, gorgeous flowers - how could I say no?
Bianca curated a team of local talent to participate in this shoot and my god, I never could have imaged it would turn out this good. This shoot just felt like a day playing with friends. My husband, Dom, of Simple Love Films covered the video and Copacabana-esque red lighting to set the vibe; Chelsie of Flowerchild Florals brought in all the cheery, yellow florals, calla lilies and fun delicate feathers; Abigail Bride styled our bride in a flirty mini dress and Daughters of Simone cape; Velvet and Slate styled the earrings for our bride and bridesmaids; Nettie’s House of Spaghetti graciously hosted us; and of course, Lock and Shade did retro-inspired hair and makeup looks for our bride and bridesmaids.
It’s easy to fall down the Pinterest rabbit hole and do what everyone else is doing, but hopefully, this editorial shoot will inspire you to take some risks, do something that feels fun to you and your partner, and pull inspiration from something you love that feels true to who you are as a couple. As far as I’m concerned, there are no rules when you’re planning your wedding. Do what you want to do, wear what you want to wear, get married where you want to get married.
I have a few photos from this shoot available to purchase in my print shop!
