Frequently Asked

Questions

Below are the most common questions I’m asked from couples like you who are wedding planning and looking for the photographer that’s the right fit for them. If you still have questions after looking over this page, please don’t hesitate to ask.

  • I’m based in New Jersey, but I love to travel, so if you’re getting married outside of New Jersey don’t hesitate to inquire. I travel often for work and I’m so grateful for all of the amazing places photography has taken me. I’ve traveled as far as Greece, Iceland and Italy and as close as New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, Wisconsin and California.

Be sure to check out my Travel Schedule if you’d like to book a portrait session while I’m on the road.

  • 17 years, so half my life! I worked at a photography studio in high school and I photographed my first wedding on my own when I was 17 years old.

  • My grandmother was always taking photos of me, my sisters and cousins on a point and shoot camera when I was little, so I credit her for first introducing me to photography. I’ve found photos I took as early as 3-years-old.

  • I don’t put a cap on how many photos I deliver, but typically, about 50-100 images per hour of photography depending on if it’s just me or also a second photographer.

  • NO. I never watermark my photos. This is the biggest amateur photographer move if you ask me.

  • You’ll receive your photos in a beautiful online gallery. Your photos will be curated and organized into sections of the day so it’s less overwhelming to look through all of your photos from start to finish. This is also easier later on when you want to grab that photo of you and your best friend having the time of your lives on the dance floor. You’re able to download, share and print your photos.

There is a print shop attached to your gallery where you can order prints directly from my professional photo lab. You have the right to print anywhere you’d like, but I can only guarantee the quality of print products ordered through me and your gallery.

  • I edit each and every photo I deliver. After all, my editing style is half of the reason why you’re interested in hiring me. Editing is a process I don’t rush to ensure you’re getting the best possible product. For weddings the turnaround time is 8-12 weeks. For portrait sessions the turnaround time is 3-4 weeks. I always strive to deliver your photos as soon as possible.

  • Absolutely! I have questionnaires and guides I will send you over the months leading up to your wedding to help figure out the photography timeline and shot list. I’ve photographed and attended a ton of weddings over the years, so I’m happy to help with any advice you may need. I’ll also send over my list of vendors I work with regularly and love so you have the dream team working together to make your vision come to life.

  • Literally everyone says this, but no one looks awkward in my work, do they? You’re not awkward. It’s totally normal to feel a little awkward at first, especially if this is your first time being professionally photographed, but that goes away quickly. By the time your wedding day rolls around, we’ll already have talked a ton, so I won’t feel like a stranger. I’ll give you direction that will create movement and natural interactions between the two of you, rather than sticking you in stiff poses. All I ask is for you to trust me and have fun!

  • To ensure my clients are getting the best experience, I only book 15 weddings per year. And to ensure my clients are getting the best, well-rested version of me on their wedding day, I only book one wedding per weekend.

  • Once you inquire, I’ll send over my info and we’ll set up a quick video call to meet and answer any questions you may have. Once you make your package selections, a signed contract and non-refundable, non-transferable retainer payment is required to officially reserve your date.

  • I do a payment schedule of 3 equal payments with all of my wedding clients. The first payment (retainer) is due when you sign your contract, the second is due 6 months before your wedding and the final payment is due one month before your wedding date. I accept cash, credit, check, Zelle, and e-check.

  • I don’t offer discounts. If it at all helps, I’m happy to offer you a payment schedule of 4 payments instead of 3, to help lower the initial cost. If you pay by cash, check, Zelle or e-check, I can offer you a $200 print credit to your gallery print shop, since I would otherwise be paying this in credit card fees.

  • This is covered in our contract, but if you need to cancel or reschedule your wedding, your retainer payment is non-refundable, non-transferable. A new retainer fee would be required to book a new date.

  • First of all, we’re not going to put bad energy out into the universe. This is all written in our contract, but heaven forbid something serious happens that prevents me from photographing your wedding (illness, hospitalization, act of God, death), I photograph the majority of my weddings with a second photographer. My second photographer is more than capable of taking over as the lead and I have an amazing network of photographer friends I would put out an SOS call to for an extra hand. In the very unlikely event both my second photographer and I are not able to make it, and I’m unable to find a replacement or if you refuse the replacement photographer, you’d receive a full refund.

  • Yes! I always have 2 cameras on me at all times just in case one randomly fails. I have multiple lenses, flashes, memory cards and batteries. I shoot duplicate copies of your photos on two different memory cards in case one fails, so no photos are lost. I even have my own server at home where every wedding and session gets backed up continuously, that then backs up to a cloud - so even in a fire, flood, or robbery, your photos are safe.

Yes, I have general liability insurance up to $2 million, although most venues only require $1 million in coverage. I’m happy to send over a COI to your venue if they require it.

  • Again, we’re not going to put bad energy out into the universe, but let’s be real for a minute - no wedding is ever absolutely perfect. Sometimes timelines run behind, it starts raining during portraits, family stresses you out - I’ve been there as both a photographer and a bride myself, so I get it. The best advice I can give you is to just go with the flow on your wedding day. I always add in a little buffer time between sections of the day to help ease stress if things do run a little behind.

We can’t control the weather and sometimes it rains. Rain makes for beautiful photos if you want to brave it, or if you don’t we’ll do photos inside. I’m comfortable photographing in any scenario. I’ve been known to tell a stressed out bride or groom to take a moment to stop, take a few deep breaths and tune out the noise. At the end of the day, you’re going to be married and that’s really all that matters.

  • This is usually the top stresser on a wedding day. I always ask if there are any family situations that I need to be sensitive to, so that I can help diffuse a situation before it has a chance to happen. I have a formula for getting through family portraits quickly and efficiently, while also making everyone feel cared for.
