NYC City Hall Elopement
Tahnee and Dave told their friends and families they were going on vacation to the U.S. to visit Tahnee's sister in New York, sight see and attend Coachella music festival in California, which was true. They only left out the part about getting married in NYC before heading out west! Something about being in on their secret and knowing that my images would be used as part of the big reveal and "surprise!!" had me feeling like a little kid in a candy store.
On the day of their wedding Tahnee and Dave were brimming with excitement. They entered city hall, received their number and patiently waited for it to illuminate the monitors hanging overhead. After a short wait, it was their time to fill out the final paperwork and make their way to the East Chapel. The ceremony was quick, but very intimate. Tahnee and Dave were joined in marriage in the presence of her sister, brother-in-law and two adorable nephews who cheered them on as they kissed for the first time as husband and wife.
The more city hall weddings and elopements I photograph, the more in love I fall with the idea of scaling back the guest list and having a wedding sans big production...but Dom (my fiancé, and second shooter extraordinaire, for those of you just tuning in) is Italian so I will have to continue daydreaming and living vicariously through my couples!
